Carrying out printing techniques
After the completion of my info graphic, I’ve had the task
to actually use printing techniques to create a print. I first took part in a
task where my aim was to take pictures of objects and words that are embossed.
For the next printed task I used crayons to colour in a sheet which was then
engraved into by a sharp object to complete the print. For the next printing
task I took a picture from the internet, applied a threshold to it and then
printed it onto acetate. The black parts of the image were then cut out leaving
only the outline. Finally all the space inside of the outline was coloured in
using paint and pens, this gave the final print. The final printing technique
involves printing a created design onto a t-shirt. By creating a design in Photoshop,
my skills will increase and i will feel more confident on using the programme,
once the image is created it will be printed out on magic touch. This will then
be compressed onto a t-shirt giving the final print.

Printing techniques
Throughout this part of the unit I have gathered information
and researched into types of printing techniques. By researching all of the hand,
mechanical and digital techniques i have produced a word document showing all
of techniques and explaining how and why they are used. After the completion of
this, I used this researched gathered to produce an info graph in Photoshop.
The info graph is good way of showing all of the techniques and giving a basic insight
to them, along with images to help piece all of the information together. After
completion of this task I have gained a good understanding of all different
types of printing and how far they date back. I am also happy with how my info
graph looks and the information it gives to its reader.
