business card progression

Above are print screens of the progression made while
creating my companies business card, I started off by simply adding in the
company logo and also some coloured lines by using the pen tool. The lines are
lowered in opacity so they are not over powering as there are many colours
used. The next stage I added a grey section with the company website at the
top, also some bullet points in different sizes to show progression and that the
company is going up. In the final stage I lowered the opacity of the logo as I
think this adds a more professional design to the business card. I also moved
it to the left so it blends in more with the colours. I then added text next to
the bullet points to show what my company produces and achieves.
logo design
Above are the stages I went through when creating my logo, I
used the programme adobe illustrator cs5 to add the text and the colour of the
logo. I then used a tablet to draw in arrows on the letter "u" and a
water droplet on the letter "f". I then transferred the completed logo into
adobe Photoshop cs5.

company pitch
I have now presented my pitch and explained what my company
is and what it is set out to achieve using good subject terminology, I think it
went well as everyone agreed with what I was saying and thought my company is
an all-around good idea. I showed napkin sketches of logo designs to my focus
group and also showed a design of bottle I want my own to be like due to
gestalt theory. After presenting my pitch I got my questionnaires back filled
out, I found that the results mostly matched my own opinions and I was happy
with the feedback. By doing a pitch I gained confidence in myself to carry out
what I am doing.

superbrands
We have been looking at super brands and how they appeal to
their target audience to sell. We watched two programmes, the first showing
technology super brands and the other showing clothing super brands. By
watching these programs we learned three important terms, brand loyalty, brand recognition
and brand association.
I have now planned and thought about three different
companies that I can create; my chosen company will be the one i will create
packaging and promotional products for. My chosen company is an internet based
bottle production company called "FillUP" for this company I will
create a ladled bottle, business card, bottle packaging and a printed t-shirt.
During the reading week I will need to create a PowerPoint presentation in
order to present a pitch to my focus group, I will also have to create a questionnaire
in order to gain feedback which will help me appeal to my target audience.

Carrying out printing techniques
After the completion of my info graphic, I’ve had the task
to actually use printing techniques to create a print. I first took part in a
task where my aim was to take pictures of objects and words that are embossed.
For the next printed task I used crayons to colour in a sheet which was then
engraved into by a sharp object to complete the print. For the next printing
task I took a picture from the internet, applied a threshold to it and then
printed it onto acetate. The black parts of the image were then cut out leaving
only the outline. Finally all the space inside of the outline was coloured in
using paint and pens, this gave the final print. The final printing technique
involves printing a created design onto a t-shirt. By creating a design in Photoshop,
my skills will increase and i will feel more confident on using the programme,
once the image is created it will be printed out on magic touch. This will then
be compressed onto a t-shirt giving the final print.
